I guess its probably late night now where you are, but its only early afternoon here.Trick or Treat starts at sundown, but alas, I live in the middle of nowhere and get no Trick or Treaters. My mom and brother live a half hour away in a more populated area, so I will go help them hand out treats. There will be homemade pumpkin pie and local cider for a little snack, then I'll come home and watch movies far into the night.Whoever shows up for that can have pepperoni pizza and black cherry soda pop with me.
Post script/day after.less than ten trick or treaters at mom's house, but mom served pumpkin pie and crackers with cheese to all, including parents,so it was like a party. Its a shame, most people in her neighborhood don't participate in Trick or Treat, which is a shame for the kids.Upon returning home,a few friends popped in for a while. The movies were standard fare this year; The Haunting,The Lost Boys,Halloween(the original) and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.Hit the sack at 4;00 A.M. and I'm basking in the glory of the first day of November.Sunny and surprisingly warm.Grabbing a slice of leftover pizza and heading out to paint the backyard fence.
Never had pumpkin pie abd crackers with cheese sounds superb evening fare for impromptu treaters. I wonder if anyone actually says trick? Great that mates came round to watch films, sounds like a movie club! Was it the old or the new Haunting? The old one is in my top five creepiest flicks of all time. The Lost Boys is just brilliant and I love the soundtrack. It goes well with Fright Night. The original Halloween is Carpenter's master stroke and again his modern sounding techno score fits the action perfectly. Rocky Horror is a classic too I agree. I can hear them singing Time Warp as I type! As for that leftover pizza, I'd love it but it would have to wait till I'm right. Currently off work with a stomach upset so its nil by mouth worst luck! Peppermint tea is all I'm having!
I'm planning on staying in and watching horror movies... throwing candy to any kids with the will to hike up the hill we live on. I'd like to pop over to my friends' house but they live 20 miles farther than I feel like driving.
Just started to watch Celebrity Haunted Hotel (channel 109 W HD). I don't recognize any of the celebs though. Looks like light hearted Halloween fun, watching them wander around in the dark with night vision cams and voice recorders. Similar format to Most Haunted, Woodsy. Nothing to serious tonight :)
Does sound like fun Tone. Had our first Trick or Treaters in years. We live at the very edge of the village. We didn't have anything in except two bags of Cheesy Puffs! The evening's film was the 1989 Woman in Black, a period masterpiece, which I introduced to a friend who hadn't seen it, which us always fun on Halloween!
