Ahhh, the large Space X moon buggy! As a kid, I saw this in a corner store in North Sheen and baulked at the 5/- or 25p. asking price. Later, I stumped up the courage (and the pocket money) to go back and buy it, only to find it -GONE!
That loss scarred my childhood, but it did inspire me to make a moon buggy of my own with wheels made from spray-can caps and aluminium strips cut from a drink can.
In fact a lot of my childhood creativity stemmed from not being able to afford the toys I wanted, so all up it was probably good for me in the long run!
Sorry to have brought back a bad memory Lewis, but at least it pushed you to work on your creative skills. I remember really wanting a Matt Mason Space Station, but that was way way out of my pocket money league, so I made one out of lolly sticks and cardboard - I bet your Moon Buggy turned out a lot better than my Space Station. :D
