SPACEX ON THE MOON

I was looking at Ed Berg's blog yesterday and saw he'd posted a few photos of his Base Patrol Cricket. Inspired by this I though I'd take a few snaps myself of some of the Spacex Moonfleet,

  1. Very nice shots (love the lighting). I have every Spacex1 toy both carded and uncarded and yet I've never even SEEN a Spacex 2 toy!

    1. Spacex was obviously always much affordable than Sword, and for a time Spacex toys were everywhere, from Woolworths to the corner newsagent. Strangely, although I knew all about Sword as a kid through TV21, I didn't see many of the toys in the shops at the time.

  6. yep Woolies in Southport or Dingle was always my go-to. Always bought them in pairs, with the Majors for Easter, Bonfire Night and Xmas! and the Roxy versions from King Kong in Bold Street, or on holiday in North Wales. Those were the days.,,

  7. and 90% of series 2 came from a little discount shop opposite Hattons on Smithdown Rd. Nuke Ferry came from Cyprus though!

  8. Absolutely lovely shots, Mike! And the lighting makes it most evocative - mission at dawn. :)

The two of uou sound like you were spoiled for choice at the time. Only one of the two toys stores where I lived had Spacex, and they never ever had any helicopters in stock. Had to wait more than half a lifetime to get one of those!

    Best -- Paul
