DO YOU GO TO VINTAGE TOY SHOPS WHEN YOUR'E ON HOLIDAY?

Did you or do you track down vintage toy shops when your'e on holiday readers?

I must say by best treasure trove was in an old shop in Rethymnon on the island of Crete in Greece during the 1990's. It was old space toy heaven!

How about you readers? Holiday vintage toy hunts?

  1. Always and all the time Woodsy. But please tell us more about the Rethymnon Incident, intriguing indeed!

    1. ha ha, I'll do a post about it maybe. Not that great, just a fab moment on holiday when I was younger and just beginning to collect.

  3. Let me add my curiosity as well - tell me more tell me more tell me more!

And to answer your question, I do try and stop at any toy shop that looks like it may've been there for decades. Not so much on holiday (can't actually think of a single one), but more while travelling around on other business. Spent a few days visiting local toy shops inbetween okaying print runs in Courtrai for example, armed with a copy of the yellow pages page. No space toys, but some nice finds of vintage Lego, incl a pile of catalogues spanning a quarter century.

    Best -- Paul
