CALIDUS AUTOGYRO: IS THE FUTURE HERE?

Here's a few photos I took of the natty little Calidus AutoGyro at Blackpool Airshow last year.

When I was a youngster, depictions of the future had things like this marvellous contraption whizzing around the sky taking the place of the family car.

Well, It's not quite turned out like that just yet, but with flying drones apparently about to deliver things to our doors and invade our privacy maybe flying cars won't be far behind.

The Calidus was introduced in 2009 by the German company AutoGyro GmbH and has a maximum speed of 115 mph with a cruising speed of 99 mph

How many times have you been stuck in a traffic jam and thought I wish I had a flying car.

  1. What a flimsy looking thing Scoop! The rear braces holding the back fins in place look so fragile. A fab machine though, Little Nellie meets Micronauts! Thanks for sharing!
