Its that time again kids when we write to Santa! If you could write to the Santa of your childhood what would you ask him for now? Maybe something you didn't get back then? Maybe a toy your mate had but not you? What would your old new wishlist look like?
All the Louis marx space playsets.

ReplyDeletePlease Santa - Raleigh Chopper MK1 (blue or Green) and Johnny Seven OMA... ah, if only.
ReplyDeleteDear Santa, please bring me all the JR21 Thunderbird toys, all the Fireball Xl5 toys, all the Stingray toys, the three Zeroids, all the Matt Mason toys, Action Man and all his equipment, Captain Action and all his costumes, Tommy Gunn and all his equipment, the Pedigree Captian Scarlet figures, Johnny West, Chief Cherokee, Thunderbolt, and all their equipment, all the Marx Daleks toys and books, the Corgi D.B.5., Batmobile, and Chitty Bang Bang cars, the Dinky Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet toys, the Johnny Seven gun, the Man From U.N.C.L.E. attache case and invisible ink pen, all the Aurora monster and superhero kits - and throw in anything else you think I may have forgotten. I've been a really good boy this year, so I deserve everything on the list. Ta much. (I'll leave out a glass of milk for you and a biscuit for Rudolph.)
ReplyDeleteOops, that's Captain Scarlet, not 'Captian'.
DeleteI'd ask for all the elusive Pippin Spacex toys. Or a time machine so I can go shopping myself!
ReplyDelete@Kid: if you're after MMM toys then drop me a line (adress at end of Spacex checklist linked under masthead) for I can probably spare a couple of figures?
As to the Chopper, I had an orange Mk I and now have a Mk II in purple crudely overpainted in black (only one I've ever seen in later years). Wish I had the time to clean it up, but I doubt Santa could help with that...
Best -- Paul
Yep, I can see why you guys would want all this stuff. Superb toys all. As long as you weren't on the naughty list I'm sure you'd get it all. As for me, a bit mushy I know, I'd like to see my ol' Mum and Dad again if I was doing a Santa letter now. Back then I'd have asked for a Strange Change Machine 'The Lost World' like my cousin had!
ReplyDeleteThe Marx 'Wells Fargo' playset with Wm Crooks engine and small town front. I did ask for cowboy stuff back then but the things I got were actually big size, more appropriate for Johnny West.
ReplyDeleteThat's not mushy at all, but a really good thought, Woodsy.

Cheers Paul. I get very sentimental at Crimbo. Just spent some time in hospital so even moreso this year. As for Cowboy stuff Ed, I know what you mean. I had much more Johnny West and Cheof Cherokee stuff than small action figs. In fact my mini figs were probably either dead cheap from Hong Kong or Timpo ones on metal bases. Maybe Britains as well. Oddly enough I bought a Marx tinplate Fort Apache in Cape Cod 10 years ago at a cool outdoor flea market at an old drive in thearte!
