There's been a slew of modern space-related films over the last 10 years: Solaris, Guardians of the Galaxy, Elysium and so on and so on. Some good, some not so good. My top 5 would be:
1. Prometheus
2. Moon
3. Interstellar
4. Mission to Mars [doh! I mean The Martian]
5. Gravity

Gravity number 1 eh Arto! It is good. District 9 didn't do it for me - too politicised for me I'm afraid. As for Melancholia, never heard of it!
