LOFT PROPERTY: MORE OF MY OLD TOY SALES

Some more of the old toys I found at car boot sales and sold on Ebay back in 2009. By that point I had been Ebaying for 9 years, after the online site arrived here in the UK in 2000. I miss those heady days of scouting for toys and excitedly listing them when I got back. I stood at toy fairs too with any better quality stuff I had.  I only sell the odd item nowadays on the Bay. Do you sell old toys readers?

  1. You had'em all Woodsy! Would've loved those Stingray slides, with a sip from a Bravestarr mug ...

    1. Yep Arto, all sorts turned up at boot sales. I wish I'd kept those stingray slides now. The Bravestarr cups were all found in an old toy shop at the top of a glen railway. Its no longer there. I bought about twenty cups for my toy stall and loads more stuff. What a great day it was!

  2. I used to go to collectible shows or Flea markets and, instead of renting a table, I would simply bring a carload of stuff and talk to other people at the show looking to make a quick cash sale in the parking lot.In hindsight, it seemed a risky move, but I never had a problem. Most collectible people seem to be a decent lot. These days,I just unload unwanted or extra stuff at local trusted dealers for "store credit",a few dollars knocked of a new purchase. That Magic Knife really jarred my memory.I purchased one in the 70's at an amusement park, from a souvenir shop shaped like a giant Teepee.Sadly I learned that the "Super Teepee" was torn down in 2007.It was at a Park called Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey.I remember thinking the package art was pretty gruesome, but the novelty was too cool to pass up.

    1. Those store credits sound cool Brian. I like that idea. Trading is so much more civilised than shelling out cash. ha ha, I love the magic knife too, a great gag. I spent a few days in New Jersey ten years ago, in Woodbridge, Was the Super Teepee near there?

  3. Six Flags Great Adventure is about sixty kilometers south of Woodbridge, and is in its fortieth year of operation, although the Super Teepee is no more.

    1. Doing well then. I never got that far out of the Woodbridge area. Went to a cool comic shop in Perth Amboy - got a mint run of Swamp Thing DC comics - and visited Cartaret. Looked a little round Staten Island - stomping ground of erstwhile horror film maker Andy Milligan [met one if his old actors called Matt Baylor]. I really wanted to go to MJ Variety Inc's shop in Alpha but never made it. They offered tons of vintage merchandise at knockdown prices. Not sure if they're still going. Loved the Garden State all round I must say.
