OK folks, here's something a little different. Letting my love of action figures let rip here's a quiz devoted to them. Well, to old Supe to be exact. Simply identify JUST ONE of the vintage Superman toy lines below in the comments. JUST ONE per reader. State clearly the number and your answer. Tricky!
Woodsy, your quizzes have been better than ever lately.I'm going for #5 since I still own one .That's a Mego Comic Action Heroes Superman. Its a shame I didn't retain the Fortress of Solitude that it came with.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like the quizzes. keeps the old grey matter ticking at this end just putting 'em together! As for number 5 Supe, you got it! Kryptontastic! Mego Comic Super Heroes with the bent knees. Not to be confused with...oops, nearly said it! Yep, the Fortress of Solitude, now that's a toy. I've only ever seen it at a toy fair. I had the exploding Batman bridge Set a few years back, which was neat. I'd love to see Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet, which sounds daft just saying it! ha ha
ReplyDeleteNot really my area, but ill try N01, Kenner Super Powers line?
ReplyDeleteThat's it Bill! Good one. Super Powers, what a wonderful toy line. If I had the cash I'd collect them all, line them up and feel super! I think the Hawkman is my favourite from the line. In 1989 Toy Biz released the DC Comics Super Heroes action figures on the back of their Batman movie figs. Inspired by Kenner's Super Powers I think the Superman was pretty similar too. I don't have either now so maybe a reader can tell us if the two Supe's are the more or less the same.
ReplyDeleteI've still got my Super Powers Superman figure (#1) and the subsequent versions looked exactly the same. However, I don't know if they had the Power Action Punch effect as I never bought any of the later ones.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that Kid. I thought they were more or less the same. I assume Toy Biz bought the moulds off Kenner. I remember Poundstretcher selling off DC Comics Super Heroes in the 90's. I can still see a huge pile of boxed Joker Mobiles. I bought one of each, which I later flogged. Wish I'd bought more and wish I'd not flogged my set! Regrets, regrets, the collector's woe.
