CBS MOON ROVER 1984: BIG ENOUGH FOR MAJOR MATT MASON?

With Major Matt being so popular I often see custom toys for Mattel's Man in Space online. There's some on Ebay right now. So I had to look twice when I saw this as I thought it too was a Major Matt custom job.

It isn't. Its a Moon Rover by CBS Toys from 1984. This is a toy and a company I don't know. Were there more in the line or was this a one off? Would it even work as a Matt Mason vehicle - is it the right scale?

  1. That is the Command Patroller vehicle from the Maxx Steele Robo Force toy line.

  2. Cheers Lance. So if that big hole is for a Robo Force robot then Mat Mason could stand up there too do you think?

  3. I think so. The Roboforce figures were about 5 inches high which makes that hole about 3 to 4 inches in diameter about the same in depth. Matt's around 6 inches in height, 2 across at the shoulders so he will fit in my opinion. Probably enough room to actually do a bit of knee band or put him on a seat in the hole. Just needs some stickers along the lines of a combo Sword/Mason venture and a bubble dome over the cockpit.
