THE ECLIPSE OVER THE RICHMOND

Managed to get a decent photo before the clouds obscured the view. Thankfully, the pub wasn't affected!

As a post script this is the last photo I took just before the eclipse was completely obscured by clouds. It would have been nice to have witnessed the 98 percent cover which I'm told we would have got here in the north but alas the weather in this neck of the woods won this round. I'll just have to wait till 2090 now!

  5. Thanks Ed, sorry you didn't get to see anything (I don't think North America got a look in on this one. I heard one's due over the states in a couple of years but you'd have to check)
It was an interesting experience, though . Not sure what Bill thought but from where we are in the north of England it did go colder and noticeably darker as the total eclipse occurred. It's a pity it clouded over just at the high point.

  6. Nice photo. It was fairly clear in Chester, I even got to see the sky tinged red briefly, for similar reasons to sunsets. Sadly my phone couldn't manage a decent photo.

  7. Sounds like you were a little luckier weatherwise than me, Kev. I would to have loved to have got a shot of that red tinge!

  8. Weather was better than I thought, but ten minutes of sun and three separate cameras only netter about four usable shots. Still, its a lot more than the Met Office suggested id get.

  9. Just had a message from my aunt currently in Spain. Even she missed what would have been visible there because of cloud cover.
