QUATERMASS COMIC STRIP

A prior post by Woodsy on  Quatermass aka The Quatermass Conclusion starring the late Sir John Mills in the title role and whether or not there was much in the way of Quatermass merchandise  got me digging in my old magazine collections for the comic strip adaptation of the first story  - The Quatermass Experiment which first appeared as a BBC serial written by Nigel Kneale in 1953.

The strip first appeared in 1977 starting in issue 8 of the House of Hammer magazine, edited by Dez Skinn. It concluded in  issue 9. It was later published in it's entirety in a compendium issue of 'Halls of Horror by the same publishers in 1982.

The artist was Brian Lewis, who also drew the covers, and as the magazine title suggests, the strip adaptation was based on Hammer's 1955 classic film, 'The Quatermass Xperiment aka The Creeping Unknown.

Part one consisted of these five excellent pages of artwork.

Tune in tomorrow for part two.
