XMAS OX OF CHOCOLATES: THE SWEET PREMIUM ZERO-X TOYS OF JAPAN

I recently made a short film about the miniature Project SWORD models. Its the guest star of the fleet, which the Japanese love to miniaturise and sell with sweets more than any other. I am of course talking about the Zero X.

Glico are the candy kings and above is their classic snap-together OX. This is the orange lifting bodies/ grey nose version [ the Saturn V isn't Glico].

This is the same model with beige lifting bodies and an orange nose cone.

The Glico OX is just shy of 5 cm long.

The other classic OX maker was Morinaga, who produced two different models that I know of.

This one is a simple three-piece deformed model, which came in different colours. It sat on a base, which in turn formed the corner of a plastic Tracy Island display for it and seven other Thunderbirds toys.

Morinaga also made this more complicated range of eight mini models. This included the Zero X.

Each one came in a two-box  package, one containing sweets and the other top box the snap-together kit.

The Zero X came with a neat sheet of stick-on decals. My glasses are for scale!
