Found this Thunderbirds Comic Collection hard back book on The Works website going for the princely sum of £2 + p.p.. It's a book of reprints from TV 21, in amongst some modern cut aways. When it came out last year it was going for a hefty £25 so it's a heck of a discount. I believe some Works shops in the UK are also selling it for £3.99.
Definitely worth a punt.
TK Maxx stores were selling them for £4.99, but as Egmont very kindly sent me a review copy when the book was first issued, I didn't bother getting another. I've got most if not all of the stories in previous reprints anyway. Guess it never sold too well, sadly, for it to end up in 'discount stores'.
ReplyDeleteI think the original price would have put most people off, Kid. I'm lucky enough to have nearly a full set of original TV21's up to 242, but I quite like reprints in this hardbound way which are more convenient to read. , I would have liked the Vintage Comic Collection by Eaglemoss to have been more successful as they were reprinting more than just Thunderbirds , but even they would have worked out very expensive.
ReplyDeleteThe thing about the Eaglemoss reprints 'though, is that they were digitally repositioning speech balloons and captions from the middle of double-page spreads so that the lettering wasn't split (or lost) at the spine. While understandable that sort of takes away from their collectability to a degree.
