The second example is from 1966, showing a children's party with some extra special guests.
Finally, the well known photo article as seen in the 1970 TV Times Extra a.k.a. Christmas With The Stars, featuring fashions from UFO.

ReplyDeleteThose Christmas with the Stars extras were required fun reading in those days. Can you imagine how bad they'd be today.I wouldn't know most of the so called 'stars' these days.

ReplyDeleteGod yes, christmas cookery with Brucie. They were the days. You only need to have your big toe on screen these days to be classed as a celeb. Warhol got it spot on, everyone is famous for 15 mins
ReplyDeleteYes, you're both right there. I was watching celebrity Mastermind last night and I only knew one of the celebrities - Johnny Ball from Play Away. I think Warhol was wrong its more like 5 minutes!
ReplyDeleteha ha, those were the days. Just three channels and we were happy! The TV Times and Radio Times were always on hand to tell us what was on next! Not like tellies nowadays eh! Those magazines were works of art. I used to love all the little black and white woodcuts scattered about in them. Looking forward to James Mays experiments with Action Man on TV tomorrow - a programme made for all us Moonbasers!
