The possible origins of SWORD have been covered at length on the blog but not so SpaceX, apart from a successful spate in our first year. So I'm always keen to share new thinking about SpaceX roots. Here's some from Bill:
Just to put a further Hawk among the pigeons I spotted this Rapier in TV21 [above pictures] which I think is very close. The twinned tail-plane - especially on the Nova Hawk could have been a direct lift from Thunderbird 2 - look at the TB3/Probe Force 2 hybrid from the Nova series [below].
