Lance's comment about Mighty Mike reminded me just how popular hill climbing toys were back then both here and across the pond so here's a drive round some old auction pictures. Marx and Remco were the big guns [ or should that be big wheels! ], with Century 21 Toys joining the hill climbing bandwagon with their similar Four Wheel Drive line advertised in TV21 and by Regent Toys in Joe 90 comics. Just how many books and cushions could these toys drive over?
That Gemini capsule in the ad looks like the excellent Clifford toys one that I've got.

ReplyDeleteOther than that, am I right in suspecting the Mighty Mike Bigfoot is a neverwazza produced by Mr Bulloch? If so the Capsela wheels are what gave it away! :)

Aha, oddly enough, its not mine. Ive got two Mighty Mike Skyway bridge sets, but no jeep!
