COSFORD MODELS: ORIGINAL 24" SKY 1

Being a big fan of Gerry Anderson's live action series, UFO, It’s always good to see any surviving original props.

While I have a great fondness for the SHADO Mobiles, it’s the super sub, Skydiver that is probably my favourite model from the show.

For the series there were two Skydiver models built, one being 30”, and the other 60”, both having a detachable Sky 1.

A separate 24” Sky 1 was also made, carrying a little more detail, and this is it, courtesy of Phil Rae.

I can’t remember the last time I saw this. It was probably at one of the Fanderson conventions, but it’s always nice to see again.

 I've seen several excellent fan built Sky 1's but nothing compares to this tatty looking, yet quite impressive looking model.
