THE UGLIEST SPACE TOY EVER? THE STARRIORS 'STAR WARS' SPACE SHIP

We all know that space toys can get ugly in the wrong hands. Here's one that takes the biscuit. It's listed as a Star Wars Starriors Space Ship by Hap-P-Kid 1997 and made in Greece I think.

At first I thought it was a militarized Thunderbird Five. Then I thought it's a mash-up of a flying saucer with a Klingon Bird of Prey slapped on its rump. I gave up once I saw what was going on in the cockpit. Unless I need to go back to Specsavers, it looks like a bullfight! Bullfights in space, really! Its a whole new kind of ugly!

  1. I first got to know of bullfighting when I was about nine, after a friend of the family went to Spain. I know that supporters of bullfights, claim they respect the bulls and that bullfighting is a grand and noble tradition; a form of art important to their culture if you like. But as a kid I thought the practice was a cruel, cowardly and barbarically sadistic tradition of slowly torturing, humiliating and finally killing a frightened, animal that bellows in agony, and desperately seeks to escape amid the pomp and pageantry of unashamed people who applaud when it finally collapses and is publicly slaughtered.

You'd think as a species, we'd have evolved a little bit beyond something based on prehistoric sacrifice, with acts of cruelty made into a form of amusement.

With Bill and Woodsy on this - without a doubt the ugliest Space Toy Ever.

  2. hum.... that's no bullfight, only 2 men having a sword fight (one looks like Darth Vader with a red helmet, and the other in white looks like Luke Skywalker) and a armed soldier standing by...
anyway, hope that the real bullfighting will be banned soon

  4. Happy for being of help :) And I confess I like this clunky and over the top design :D I have a soft spot for knock-offs :)
