Taking a break from essay writing, I'd just like to make a quick post to thank the generous and fabulously productive Will Schwartz of Secret Space Base, who expedited a tricky ebay deal for me and slipped some wonderful secret space goodies into the pack.
Most recognisable for me was the excellent little diecast version of the Disney Atlantis Tunnelling Machine. A steampunk style mole which makes a brief appearance in the Mike Mignola designed animation. Ever since Thunderbirds rolled out the Mole, I have had a fascination with drill toys, so this little beauty takes pride of lace in my collection!
Cool! I really 'dig' this (groan). Anywho, I don't know how many times I've had the Disney Atlantis series of vehicles saved on my eBay watch list and never followed up with a purchase. They're very well conceptualized.
ReplyDeleteNever saw Atlantis but I bought a few boxed ships to sell on my toy stall back then. One of the ships, maybe a submarine, reminded me of an Eric Eden design from 1966 in the TV21 Summer Special, a sub like cigar. Very cool little Mole Billster. Like a small dog!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words; I appreciate it. I'm just glad everything arrived in perfect condition.
ReplyDeleteIt also means ill have to fetch out the rest of my Atlantis toys!
