WHAT SORT OF TOY COLLECTOR ARE YOU?

How would you describe your collecting habits readers? Personally I would say that I'm a completist. I wasn't always. I started out as a dabbler.

Here are a few ways of collecting. Are you one or a mixture of two or more? Have you changed over time?

1. Completist - completing a range or series of toys such as Project SWORD or SpaceX

2. Dabbler - collecting a bit of everything, no particular range or make.

3. Specialist - focusing on one or two areas eg. tin, plastic, die-cast, trains, boats, cars, spaceships, Sixties, Seventies etc

4. Perfectionist - collect only the very best examples of toys ie. mint boxed

5. Non-perfectionist - collect toys in less than perfect state

6. Anything else you can think of!

  1. That's a tough one, really. I'm certainly a completist in some areas such as my Batmobile collection, but I do have some random additions to my overall collection. Condition is a major issue with me regardless. I have to really love a toy if I'm gonna purchase or trade for it in a less than pristine state.

  2. 1) Completist: It irks me to not have all of a series once I put my mind to it. But sometimes it does take so long that I eventually give up

    2) & 3) A hybrid collector. Starting out dabbling and once I decide what I like, morphing into a specialist.
