CHINA IN MY HAND: MY TIN RACER

Here's another old tin toy I've dug out of my loft. It's part of a group of tin toys I had way before I developed a full-on collecting bug and it's stablemates were tin police cars, ambulances and a DB5.

My Father-in-Law bought me this particular tin car in the 1980's. It was made in China and has the unusual feature of a large key, which, when it turns and touches the floor, it turns the whole car too! The price on the base is in old Deutschmarks and pfennigs. 10.69 I think. The stylised number one is typical of the European continent.

The soft-headed driver always reminded of Billy Blastoff's innocent little face! Wonder if he's passed his test?
