MARS ONE

I've just been listening on the News to two of the British people chosen to live on Mars in 2025 through Mars One. Four people in total will go to the red planet through the Mars One initiative from Holland.

The two young people were around twenty years old I would say and do not plan to enter long term relationships, get married or have children in the 11 years before they leave Earth.

It will be a one way trip to Mars for the four.

For more info read about Mars One here. What do you think readers? Would you go?

  2. Can't see it happening at all. Cost is way too much. Much easier to use robot vehicles. Maybe in a couple of hundred years time if we have a moon base and a massive space station to launch from and have faster engines like Space 1999. :)

  3. It's like one of the proposals for landing on the moon at the start of the Apollo project. Land two poor saps on the moon and keep sending them fresh supplies until you can figure out how to get them back! Needless to say, this stupid idea was rapidly binned.
