The blue and yellow ship in the video is the earlier Zeroid Exploration Module, or Zem XXI which originally featured Zintar emerging from it on the box artwork. The slightly altered red and grey version came a little later in 1977 as part of Ideal's S.T.A.R. Team series.
That's the one I had. Came out shortly after Star Wars. I must admit, the Blue and yellow combination is certainly more appealing. Thank you for posting this.
Thanks Ed. I don't think Mr Spielberg's got too much to worry about. You never know though, it might inspire him to make a big screen Zeroid blockbuster. Ah well, I can dream!
I must admit Zintar is probably my favourite. He's certainly a great design and he was the first one I got as a kid so there's a lot of nostalgia there.
Very nicely done Scoop. I've never seen the Blue and Yellow version of the spacecraft. The one I remember was Red and Grey.

ReplyDeleteZintar is such a classic design. I have a hard time deciding if I like him, Zerak, or Zogg the best.
