KENNER SSP RACERS

Complimenting Bill's earlier post on Kenner's SSP Revrods when he described the four models that were released in Britain I've found some American ads showing more of the range that we never got here in Blighty.

  1. Beautiful ads Mike. I never had any of these Kenner toys but I wish I had!

  2. Same here, Woodsy. They do look good, especially the futuristic designs.

  3. Great stuff, Scoop!

I remember a friend had the Smash Up Derby set, and that was brilliant. For us youngsters that was 'play value' redefined! :)

  4. I wonder how many Smash Up Derby's have survived over their years. Looking at the ad I imagine sooner or later pieces would go missing. Never had one, of course but it looks a great toy, though.

  5. Knock-off parts were pretty large, so easy to retrieve. And if you have a search on fleabay.com for then there's sets at various prices. I'm almost tempted myself now :)

  7. Always loved those ads, together with the zeroid and major matt ones, they were sometimes better than the comic!

    Id love a Blackjack!

  8. Tonka/Kenner did a range in 1995 too. They were called Speed Screamers.

    1. Superb Portland. I'll have to check them out. Just realised that the Back Widow reminds me of a vehicle that one of the Impossibles had in their Sixties cartoon show. i think it was Multi Man!
