MYSTERY PLASTIC FIGURE FROM JUAN

Last week Juan of Spain sent me pictures of mystery die-cast space vehicles. This week is a mystery action figure from Juan.

Hi Woodsy

And taking advantage of your kindness, I include now a picture of a bootleg toy, which seems to me like a sci-fi character too. I think I have seen it sometime, but don't know where. Maybe you can help me again. :) It is very badly done (cannot stand, because of a leg is longer than the other one) and has no mark at all. If you have any reference, it would be great.

Thanks!
Juan

My own shot at this is a figure based on Captain Harlock, an anime character range popular in Japan. See below. Looks dubious though. Any ideas readers?

  1. Thanks for publishing this!

My first guess was, this was one of the characters from Ulysses 31, but I haven't found any character similar to this in the series.
Let's see if anyone can provide some hint...

I don't think it's based on Captain Harlock.

  2. Definitely not Harlock oriented. The head is very small and the chest rather manly, the arms very long for such short legs also. I'm more of the mind that this is a bootleg and not really based directly on anything other than 'action figure'.
