In stark and physical contrast to Scoops Big Big Train, i've been collecting a range of Kinder Egg trains, which fit the 9mm standard N Gauge track. These are non-motorised toys which mostly appear in Germany. I was especially taken with them as they included a number of diesel shunters and alpine locos, as well as interesting rolling stock. The other great thing about them are they're comparative low price, which meant I can afford to buy bulk and swap the parts around. With this in mind, i've been trying to create a tiny N scale 'Battlespace' style train. The yellow and the black locos are customised with other, non-train parts, the boiler from the black one and the bronze coloured radar unit are pieces from the Tonka Motorix series and the little rocket is lifted from a model. The little Conqueror tank is a cake topper.
While I was at Moonbase recently, I picked up a lot of Lone Star Treble 0-Lectric track and some neat trackside buildings, which suit the trains nicely. So im busily cooking up a diorama already!
Super stuff . Can't wait to see the diorama.
