To continue our irregular look at the comparative sizes of toys of the smae design, heres a pack of Prospectors, headed by the mighty battery opertated C21 SWORD version. In clockwise order we then have the Roxy Moon Traffic version, showing signs of wear and age, then a more recent copy of the original Apollo Moon Exploring one with black wheels instead of the more common yellow or silver. Then at the front is a rare Moon Traffic variant, with distinctly different wheels, possibly in response to the copyright suit slapped onto Roxy for blatant plagiarism of the Tri-ang Spacex models! Finally we have the standard Golden Astronaut/Spacex version which differs only in having the names swapped around with the MEV model, just to confuse us further! There are other versions of the C21 model, such as the Tarheel and the Chibi, but these are essentially the same toy. The only other known Prospector appearance is in the Imai UFO Moonbase set, where it appears along with a tiny Moon Crawler and Scramble Bug. Unfortunately, I don't own this model, so can't supply a comparative shot. Maybe one day though...
I like the first photo. I do have two questions. Are mother prospectors limited to litters of four? Also, how soon are baby prospectors weaned from their mothers enough to prospect on their own?
ReplyDeleteLOL prospectot gestation is very long, decades long. The clutch of four are released ready to roll and leave their mother in a cloud of dust, eager to explore the nearest crater!
