Space Bus Booster

Here's a neat Japanese Space Bus with a cute little Booster Rocket on both the box and the side of the bus. They sure did get around. Great to see a normal bus on the Moon too! Not sure of the brand of this toy, which I saw on Ebay.

  1. Somewhere in The Cave I have an alien transport bus. It's smaller than the one shown here and has a wind-up mechanism.

  2. Actually, not quite the Booster Rocket! That's more derived from a Retriever Rocket that Wernher von Braun designed for a Mars expedition! To save fuel, the returning Mars ship would brake into a high orbit, to which the Retriever Rocket wouls ascend to collect the crew to take them back to the space station in lower orbit. The ship was built from the last stage of a ferry rocket, with wings removed and with a number of extra fuel tanks added. It was used as the "RM-1" in Disney's "Man in Space" series, as a round-the-moon ship.
