Iain McClumpha's World Army Hover Tank and Friends

World Army Hovertank... Sadly I lost that model in a PC crash, but it was based on a single painting in the 1969 TV21 Annual - the big blue one with Captain Black standing over Scarlet's body on the back cover? I loved the look of Ron Turner's painting (hell, I love his artwork full-stop!) so had a bash. I also used it briefly in one of my early Dalek comics... here:
The Airfix Angel was one of my other hobbies - I like to make up model boxes and book covers for my own amusement. Nothing more in depth or meaningful than that.

Oh yeah, meant to ask you... how big are those old Spacex toys? I wouldn't mind trying to find the one which was in "The Daleks" TV21 strip. Also great to know other people love Zero X... I just wish I could afford the Takara die-cast one which came out a few years ago.
The Hovertank one is one of my favourite pieces. I'll need to build that model again... both CGI version and a physical one.

I love Iain's computer generated Hover Tank, which goes all the way back to his TV21 predecessors in 1969. The actual Captain Black picture Iain's mentions is one that I'm unaware of if anyone can help? The Hover Tank was originally designed by the great Eric Eden and first appeared in the TV21 Summer Extra 1966 as featured below.
In August of the same year this Hover Tank, in fact a whole fleet of them, appeared in TV21's Fireball XL5 strip, although I'm unsure of the artist if anyone can help with that too.

A further black and white Hover Tank appeared in the 1970 TV21 Annual as part of its Battle Breakdown storyline.
Project SWORD's own Hover Tank graced both the 1968 SWORD Annual and its own Make A Model book. The same artwork appeared in both as shown below.

It would have made a superb Century 21 toy. Sadly it was not to be.

    Ah, the black and white one was in the 1970 TV21 annual... printed 1969. But yes, that was the one with Captain Black and a downed Scarlet on the back cover.

    I'm actually considering scratchbuilding a plastic version of the Sword Hovertank based on the make-a-model print outs. I printed them onto A3 paper to give me larger templates to work with.
    Love the Hovertank... no matter whether it's the TV21 or Sword version. They all have that Anderson stamp on them.
