Countdown To Christmas: Another Corgi Toy Ad

Another festive Corgi advert, this time from 1967.

No sign of Steed and Mrs Peel. Bond was still selling well, as was the UNCLE car, and now the Batmobile had a Batboat.

  1. A beautiful toy Scoop. I had one as a kid - I think the legs came off. Can't remember if I had a Mole or a Jeep in the pod. Oddly enough, the box art of this JR21 toy has given us the only lead so far as to who may have been a JR21/ C21 box artist. Blog reader and Andersonist Jim Lewis theorsied that the box artist for the Dinky TB2, Peter Archer, was the smae for the JR21 TB2, on account of the artwork being so similar. I've tried to contact Peter Archer, who I understand is an elderly gentleman living in France now. He also illustrated John Theydon's Thunderbirds novels in the 60's as well as Famous Five book covers. Compare the two pictures and see what you think.
