I may have company soon on Moonbase. The net is buzzing with news that NASA is considering biulding its own Moonbase! I'll have neighbours to borrow sugar from!
What would your ideal moonbase look like? Spacex? SWORD? Marx? Which? My own personal favourite, certainly in terms of symmetry and good looks, is the Spacex-like complex pictured on this beautiful old Brooke Bond Race Into Space tea card. More moonbases welcomed!
I always love seeing cut away illustrations of space stuff...bases, spaceships, space vehicles, whatever.
ReplyDeleteIt always adds to the "realism" of the thing to me when I can see where the astronauts work, eat, play and sleep.
I also like the ingenuity involved of fitting it all into what is usually a small space.
One of my favs are the cut away illustrations of the Jupiter 2...they fit an awful lot into a relatively small (around 50ft diameter I think?) two deck spaceship! Some illustrations even fit a third deck in which is still consistent with the overall dimensions of the craft.
