WHEN IN BLACKPOOL ALSO....

.....Visit Thunderbooks, where, like me, you can spend a happy half-hour browsing the cool stock and vintage collectibles. The proprietor is a nice chap called David Nightingale. David is a pioneer of Anderson collecting and published the seminal magazines [1981-1988], Century 21 [1988- 1994] and Action 21. You can read more here. David also trades online as Star Trader.

  1. Hi,Woodsy.I was just curious to see if Blackpool is a little less crowded and busy this time of year as opposed to the height of Summer.Where I live, the beach resort towns quiet down after Labor Day and the shops all have clearance sales to get rid of excess inventory. Also, the rides and attractions stay open in September for the local folk. It's kind of pleasant to be able to put on a sweater or windbreaker and not have to put up with a hot, sweaty crowd.Theres also several towns that have Halloween parades, like Ocean City and Tom's River(New Jersey).
