Sad Tidings

I've just read online that Gerry Anderson has Alzheimers. Such sad news as I know how it can rob a person of their personality over time. Like many of you, Gerry created my childhood's rocket-filled 'future', which is the very reason why I blog here today. I'm sure you will join me in wishing him and his family well at this difficult time.

  1. Sad news indeed. He was certainly a big influence on my childhood ( and to a fair degree on my adulthood ) I echo your sentiment, Woodsy and wish him and his family well.

  2. This is something I've had to think about often over the years owing to a family history of relatives afflicted with the same condition, not to mention some of my favorite creators and performers over the years. The one happy thing about this is Gerry and his family going public about it, raising awareness and helping others who are either struggling with it themselves or have family and loved ones who are feel less alone. That is very classy and I salute him for that, as well as for so many other things!

  3. That is very sad indeed. My wife worked in a rest home for seventeen years and would tell me how difficult it was for patients, family, and care givers alike.
