With their links to Project SWORD, us Moonbasers are always interested in 2001 Space Odyssey toys. Most are vintage and like the three Japanese plastic spacecraft are very classy. But here's a modern toy, the Monolith Action Figure currently available allover cyberspace. I'm not sure what to make of this, seems very gimmicky. It would have made a great free gift with TV21 or the SWORD Annual. What do you think?
Love it. Is it April 1st already?

So it does exist after all! This maybe a stupid question but the 'Kubrick' brand of toys, has it anything to do with Stanley Kubrick?
ReplyDeletePerhaps the back of the package could announce: "Watch for the variant Monolith figure as depicted in the sequel '2010' coming soon! Collect several hundred thousand to recreate scenes from the movie."
ReplyDeletehmmmm... I'm thinkin' buy a bunch, paint dots on 'em and you have a customized set of Monolith Dominoe's!
ReplyDeleteOr.....?
Actually the TMA toy has been around for a couple of years now.
