This harkens back to the days when we had both: a) the sincerity to state simply "these are great toys!" and b) an actual, local toyshop. I miss those days.
I think so too Mike. The TV21 Phase 2 advert is dated 27th January 1968 and the SWORD text stories began in TV21 on the 6th April 1968. I suppose they were just getting ahead of the game eh? I wonder if Phase 2 appears anywhere else like on the toy boxes but I don't think so. I haven't got the Nuke Ferry so maybe Wote could tell us.

I always assumed It was the updated backstory in TV21 taking over from the Solo strip.

ReplyDeleteNuclear Ferry is clearly labelled 'Phase 2' its the only place ive seen this used on a toy. Box art is updated from standard sword toys too.
