Golden Boy

A recent spring clean of Mars Base meant a redeco of the living quarters. Part of the new colour scheme was to be a gold accent. One tin of gold spray paint later, I had a nice new ornate picture frame and half a tin of paint left. Hmmm, what looks good in gold... One of the astronauts I got in a job lot from ebay sprung to mind and voila! GA is all growed up!

Addendum: Ahh - I should have guessed. No sooner had I posted this than there was a ruckuss in the alien quarter - my namesake demanded a redeco too!

  1. That looks brilliant, Wote!

But is it as brilliant as the plating on the real thing? And which brand paint was it btw?

  2. Oh, awesome, Wote!

I'd like to have one like that. I don't suppose? ...

  3. It's slightly misleading as the coat has reflected a bit of red sheen from the red body of the camera. Final finish is glossy and reflective, but still slightly below the real plate finish. Also it is a touch coppery too. It's Plasikote project paint, the cap showed a beatiful mirrored plate finish, but the paint isn't quite there. Not bad for a fiver though!

  4. Fab Wote! Looks like an Oscar! As for a golden Wotan, what would fit neatly into those brilliantly shiney golden pincers?
