I heard a word again on the Saturday News this morning, futureproof. It was used in the context of avoiding possible fuel shortages. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not against jargon. I enjoy words entering common parlance from the worlds of science fiction and space travel. But is there really no simpler alternative to futureproof that can be used in the BBC News? Or am I suffering from doublethink!
Addendum: Just looked up future proof on Wiki and I coouldn't believe one of the links given - The Year 10,000 Problem, predicting a Millennium Bug in 8,000 years! Look it up!
