No Ordinary Joe

I've just ordered the Joe 90 Top Secret Annual 1969 and I'm really excited about getting it. I had it as a kid and remember it being full of great strips and gadgets. It's a while since I've looked forward as much as this to a book arriving! Last time I had it I was 9, over 42 years ago! Good old Posties! Anyone else remember this one?

  1. Yep. I had a buying spree a few years ago after finding the Gerry Anderson Comic History site and forum. Just to confuse everyone they made 2 Joe 90 annuals for 1969 0ne just called Joe 90 and this Joe 90 Top Secret one.

  2. I've still got my original from when I was a kid, along with a few of the comics. Its a nice annual.

I've also still got both my original Joe 90 annuals.

Didn't mind the show at the time, but my enthusiasm for it has more or less vanished over the years. The model work and scenery was very good though, I just think the concept was a bit dodgy.

BTW on a different note, sorry to hear of the passing of that great concept artist Ralph McQuarrie.

  3. I remember a J90 annual with Joe sat in his machine on the cover. is that the other 69 annual?

Very sad about Ralph McQuarrie. I loved his Star Wars concepts. A pioneer.

  4. The annual with Joe sat in the Big Rat is the '68 annual, the '69 annual has Joe in the cockpit of a fighter aircraft.
