Taking my cue from Toad's and Richard's insights into the murky machinations of Blogger, I've this week tried to do two things as site owner:
1. COMMENTS CHECK-IN: I've removed the anti-spam check-in. If I get tons of spam again I may have to re-instate it sorry. Lets see how it goes. Has this helped?
2. MAKING COMMENTS: As per Richard's suggestion, I've changed the comments box to the embedded version. Let me know if this is any better please. Ta.
3. COMMENTS NOTIFICATIONS: Wote has inserted an 'Follow The blog By Email' box in the left-hand side-bar. If this doesn't work for you I'm able to arrange for up to 8 readers to recieve comments notifications. Let me know if this is a service you require.
Please let me know if you have any further problems woth the blog or as a result of these 'improvements'. For some reason I personally cannot send Comments with my WOODSY Batman avatar! I'm bloggered if I know why!

ReplyDeleteBlogger does not come up on the drop-down list of possible ID's for making comments. I cannot sign-into comments using my blogger ID and avatar. Is this happenning to anyone else?

ReplyDeleteI appear to be able to use my Google ID as usual, but making comments is now a much more awkward process than it was before Blogger messed things up.

How does Feedburner work? Is it like RSS? Does it send only blog updates, or does it send ads too?

I now seem to be able to reply to individual comments [can everyone?]. I'll have to rely on Wote to explain Feedburner. I personally don't recieve any email updates re. new posts on the blog as I stop by every day. I do however get 'comments' notifications, which I could arrange for you very easilly Toad.

DeleteIt takes my computer an age to load the page. With the new way of posting a comment, it needs to load the page twice, so now it takes two ages! I personally preferred the little box but you can't fight progress.

DeleteDrat! I have now 'unsubscribed' from receiving email notifications for this particular comments thread! Serves me right for clicking blue links I haven't seen before underneath each comment. I think it's a Google+ thing, who seem to have gobbled up Blogger.

No idea what feedburner is! I get comment notification same as always. But I am on gmail and had to join google plus which is a royal pain in the ass as it assumes I'm not a sociopath and want to tell the world and his dog what I'm doing! I'll have a look later when I can get to the pc - I'm on iPod justnow
