Fireflash Down

During our time out at Mars Base on Friday, conversation turned to Anderson models and Mike B commented that there is a dearth of Fireflash kits and more notably toys. Given that the Fireflash airliner features heavily in Thunderbirds and even makes the end credits, J21 or any of the other big names never produced a toy of the iconic aircraft. In fact the only real source is a the recent Aoshima release in diecast. Im not desperately up to speed with japanese kit releases, but does anyone know or own a kit version of the plane ?

  1. I've got the kit. It's quite good, about 15 inches long. The only issues are that though the cockpit windows are transparent, there is no cockpit detail -totally see through. Also the main body passenger windows are just molded into the light blue plastic and not transparent.
Good of Aoshima to produce a kit of a secondary vehicle in the show though.

  2. Ah ,also forgot that the VIP passenger lounge windows (in the wings) are also transparent but there's nothing there to represent the lounges. See through again.

Fireflash is a great Derek Meddings design.

  3. Konami made a small Fireflash which was very accurate (as they all are in that range), it even came with tiny elevator cars!
