Whilst whirling your Nuclear Pulse round the room and dusting down your Moon Prospector why not treat yourself to a bag of your favourite vintage sweeties like the one's we've been chewing over on the blog. In the UK you could stop by at the scrummy Lancastrian online shop A Quarter Pound Of [sweetie images borrowed from it] and immerse yourself in toffee heaven!
PS. Did anyone have a toy sweet shop/ post office/ bus ticket machine as a wee one?
Wish they would reprint the various sweet cigarette cards I collected as a youngster- I had a preference for these at the sweet counter.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree, Andy. And some of the gum cards. I'd love a set of Krazy Kreatures now.
ReplyDeleteI remember playing "shops" at school, with plastic coins. I just remember the playing, but was it a way to teach us counting?
I didn't actually have anything like that at home. The closest sweet-toy that comes to mind was those dispensing machines which gave out individually wrapped Cadbury's chocy chunks. Remember those? (The toy machines, I mean).
I just had a look at that link ... White Mice are still available! Isn't that super? Do they still taste as good, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteYes they do. They sell them in the town I live in!
ReplyDeleteAndy's right. White Mice are just as yum. I often have a few at Cineworld from the Pick n Mix! I do remember those Cadbury's Choc Dispensers. I had one as a kid and may even have an old one in the attoc somewhere complete with rotten chocolate. I seem to remember Tesco or Argos doing them recently.
ReplyDeleteI love Krazy Kreatures as well and bought a set years ago [although they maybe copies, I'm unsure]. I posted them about 2 years ago ont blog. I can't cut and paste into comments for some reason [!?] so just google Moonbase Central Krazy Kreatures for another peek.
