Remember collecting these cards around 1966-7. I can't remember the manufacturer. Although the images on the cards were taken form the TV show, the story on the back bore no relation, I beleive to any episode. The top image is taken from an Outer Limits episode available on Youtube.
When i was given an album with the full set of these and another with war cards in them, which i didnt care for, i was shocked at the realism of some of the cards, especially the Chromite, Glob and the Zanti Misfits! As the scariest thing id seen up to that point had been a dalek and the opening titles of Dr Who, these creepy looking cards gave me nightmares. I didnt want to throw them away and tended to hide them for a bit and then go back to them when i felt braver. Never saw the show until years later, but i really found the images quite scary. One or two cards eventually fell out of the album and the majority got lost over the years, but i distinctly recall tidying the cupboard and discovering the Zanti card and seeing the three man-faced ants glaring out at me and shoving it quickly under the rug in disgust!
