Kevin D's WASPS

Hi there Paul,
I know you have featured a WASP Spearhead jet before (and excellent it was too), but I thought you might like to see my attempt at it along with its stablemate the WASP Arrowhead fighter. Both of these are made by converting model kits (The B 58 Hustler and the F5 Freedom Fighter). Hope you like them.

  1. Excellent stuff. I really must dig out my half finished Arrowhead and finish it.

  2. Excellent work.

I remember my attempt at the Arrowhead - discovered you needed 2 Airfix F5 fighters to get enough drop tanks. Aargh. Still Airfix kits were pretty cheap at the time. Also made the Red Arrow jet from Thunderbirds 'edge of Impact' using the Airfix Saab Draken and Revell(?) Hustler engines. How about that for your next one?

  3. Thank you.
The TB jet is not a bad idea. You don't actually need two kits for the Arrowhead, I cut the drop tank in half, cut its fins off to leave two cones, I ten stuck the tail ends of the two bombs the kit comes with onto the end of these cones!
