Hand Painted Christmas

Salvage from Christmas Past,
two cast Samurai models hand painted in the early Seventies by yours truly.
These are precious to me as very few of the childhood Xmas prezzies from my Parents have survived.
Have you still got some?

  1. All I have still have from past christmases are my Dinky Shado Mobile and Ed Straker's car. I also have the Lunar Loop toy and the TN Toys DC9 airliner. All 4 are very precious to me.

  2. That's a great little gtoup of survivors Kevin. I suppose like my metal models and your die-cast and tinplate, maybe metal has the best chance of staying in one piece as time passes. My other theory was that small items seem to be most easilly hung onto from childhood but your DC9 Airliner blows that one away - it's huge! I watched your video! I'll post it for readers this week. Nice one!

  3. (shakes head) A series of house moves and various life changing events mean I don't own a thing from my childhood (sobs quietly).

Video to come, eh? (orders popcorn with a coke, and settles comfortably in the back row ...)

  4. Conversely, i seem to have about 70% of my childhood toys, aside from stuff that broke naturally along the course of time. What i lost as a kid, ive tried to find once more on ebay!

  5. Being re-united with childhood stuff is a great thing, which Ebay has made easier for sure. But actually still having your original things you had as a kid is a privelege. Have you really got 70% of your original stuff Wote or have you re-found most of it on fleabay. There must be a better way of explaining what I mean but I'm suffering from bauble overload. We've just trimmed up!
