  1. Schifier do the best book on Aurora, with evey kit art in the back...haven't got it here so can't give author etc...but reading it the other day...anyone got spare Addar P-ot-Apes sets in bottles or the Dino set by them (ex-Gowland)...I'll do a hit for one, provided it doesn't involve Mama's or trains...

'Dargir'...the name of my Walther PPK!

  2. Love Aurora. Some of my first non-Airfix kits were the Aurora F94 Starfire and F4 Cutlass. Built the Cutlass with its wings upside down making it look even more futuristic.

Had the glow in the dark Frankenstein Monster, Stalin Tank with photoscope (look through the turret hatch to see a picture of an explosion), Swedish S Tank, Flying Sub, Seaview, USS Enterprise and Klingon Battlecruiser. I remember around 1977 seeing the Flying Sub, Orion Space Clipper, Seaview and Land of the Giants Spindrift spaceship in a shop in York and only being able to afford 2 of them that Saturday - I got the Flying Sub and Seaview. Went back the next week with more pocket money to get the others but they'd gone! Noooo! Didn't get them until Polar Lights did the Spindrift in 2002, and Moebius made the Orion in 2011. Blimey a 26 and 35 year wait!

Aurora were simple kits but great fun to make and play with. More fun than putting together a kit with hundreds of parts, even if they weren't that accurate.
