It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere and back in 1966 the cast of Thunderbirds were celebrating too! In the episode Give or Take a Million you can even see a small fleet of JR21 plastic Thunderbirds toys! I love the line 'nationwide publicity for a sack of toys' - product placement Anderson style! You can see the full hour long episode in 6 parts on You Tube. The JR21 toys appear around the 2 minute mark in Part 1 and then on and off for a while.

ReplyDeleteLong time since I've watched that episode. Does the boy get to take the toys home? Cos he's going to be the target for a little house-breaking by the Hood if so. And if he doesn't .... well, sooooo unfair.
ReplyDeleteAnd presumably they weren't bought in a shop ... cos that is going to make IR security and the Hood look a bit silly. "You spent HOW MUCH on this operation master AND killed HOW MANY people? But you could have just bought a set from Toys R Us!" "Doh! (slaps forehead) ... Kyrano!!!!!"
So who is the scratch-builder? I'm guessing fromThunderbird 6 that it's probably Brains.
And what if a girl had won. Would she have got the Tea Set ... or the FAB?
Much as I like all the episodes of Thunderbirds, this one has always seemed a little odd, somehow. It just "feels" different from the others, and not in a good way.
