Inspired by Shaqui, Bill, Andy and Mike I thought I'd have a crack at some arty stuff too. Lacking any drawing or painting skills I have resorted to my trusty but basic 'paint' programme. As you will see I have paid homage to several old Fifties and Sixties pulp and space artists by shamelessly using their images in this B- 'story'. I hope they and you don't mind. Similarly I hope Toad, Wotan and EvilEd [ge] don't mind playing story parts too. Fritha is completely fictitious! A bit of Friday Night fun - at least for me! ha, ha - very good! Seriously impressive stuff considering the paint software youre saddled with! Where did you find all the pics ? Especially Ymir ?
ReplyDeleteToo kind Commander WOTAN! All the were online.
ReplyDeleteYmir's big face is on Ed Valigursky's! http://www.pbase.com/tomrok/vintage
Got many of the rockets on this great French pulp site: http://www.collectorshowcase.fr/divers_pulps_4.htm
Have you mutated yet?
change is doing me good!
ReplyDeleteTop Class Woodsy!
ReplyDeleteI just love the picture of the spaceship standing upright and partly submerged on the atoll!
Something tells me we haven't heard the last of the terrifying Captain Toad Beast!
Cheers Ed. It was a lot of fun. That rocket in the water was by John Pederson Jr and can be seen here

Hmm. You've got me thinking about a follow up!
PS. Mark Gatiss for Prime Minister!
What a marvellous idea, Woody!!!!! As a non-artist myself, I find this very inspiring! Even so, I doubt I could do anything like this, but I am almost tempted to try.
ReplyDeleteOf course, Captain Toad is nothing to do with me. Work for S.W.O.R.D.? As if! Rookie organisation! No, I am on the training staff of the European branch of Spacex Academy. Everyone knows that ^_^
Woody????? Can I not even get the boss's name correctly now?
ReplyDeleteSorry, Woodsy.
