Agent 21 here. Special Agent Steve over at Vintage Thunderbird Toys has sent me an urgent telegram, which I've eaten before reading! I've kept the picture as you can see and what I remember of the text is that he's discovered something about Lady Penelope and Parker and said its "A bit like that Rhubarb & Custard Probe Force 3, a bolt from the blue!". That's it. All agents can read the full file on the 21 intranet - hurry, it will self-destruct at midnight: PENELOPE AND PARKER TOP SECRET FYEO. 21 out!
Fantastic to see a photo of these two box styles. I must be honest and say I saw this 'ugly art' box about 15 years back when visiting a dealer to buy some stuff from him. He showed me at the time and wondered what I thought. I agree it could well be an earlier version as it clearly is not as appealing. Stunning to see again and hats off totally to Steve and his stunning collection.

The type B art looks like it could be the work of Michael Strand, who drew 'Lady Penelope' for some issues when Frank Langford wasn't... (click on my name and go to story 4. If you go to part 3, he also drew story 13)
