Tar on My Heels

Continuing the tour of my collection as it stands thus far, here is a shot of my American Tarheel grouped in my attic . Like T in a Circle, it's a rather meagre display but has taken me years to pull together! The scarcity of Tarheel in the UK [and thus a reliance on Ebay US] and my fluctuating finances have been the biggest factors in finding these toys. Again like T in a Circle I haven't stuck just to SWORD or space toys as I love Tarheel's general plastic vehicle range. Oddly enough my favourite Tarheel is the boxed Rescue Helicopter on the left - perfectly formed and packaged. I've included two Tarheel cousins, the Durham 'Johny Tarheel' helicopter at the top of the pile [donated by a reader] and the Italian de-Tarheeled Moon Ranger, which was my final luxury before my current period of buying abstinance! As you can see there are multiple gaps in the SWORD side of this group - Ranger, Glider, PF2, PF3, TF1, TF3 and Moon Bus [never mind the Tarheel logo variations] ,which will keep me busy for years to come!
